ABOUT US

The West Central Education Foundation was incorporated in 2009, initially funded with a generous gift from Max Knable from Oquawka, IL  who believed in the value of comprehensive education.

The foundation provides structure for community support and partnership with District #235.  It operates independently from the school district, yet fosters the District's ongoing efforts to help our students attain an even greater level of success.

Since 2009, the Foundation has provided scholarships for deserving West Central graduates who are furthering their education.  In addition, the Foundation has funded multiple other projects requested by teachers and staff of the district that benefit large groups of students.

The West Central Education Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of the following volunteers: Marissa Gibb, President; Chris Cook, Vice President; Linda Reeves, Treasurer; Amanda Randall, Secretary; and Todd Ackermann, Sheila Forbes, and Ray Cavanaugh.  District Superintendent Paula Markey and Board of Education President Paul Anderson serve as Ex Officio members of the Board of Directors.

As the Foundation has been organized as a charitable 501(c) 3 corporation all deductions should be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
